Huawei's honor line of smartphones are mid range smartphones, but this time huawei has done something new with its Honor line up. With Honor Play Huawei has provided flagship processor. Let's get into more details about the Honor Play.
Huawei has provided a TPU case, USB Type C cable and Huawei's own quick charger in the box. This charger can charge the phone with output of 5V at 2 Amp or 9V at 2 Amp.
The design of Honor Play is modern with minimal bezels. It comes with a 6.3inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2340x1080p and has a 409 PPI. The screen to body aspect ratio is 19.5:9. Honor Play has an iPhone X like notch but you can hide it. The Honor Play can be easily used single handedly. I love the navy blue color with Matt finish. The power button and the volume rockers are on the right. The Secondary Mic is on the top. It has a hybrid sim tray on the left,it will accept memory card upto 256gb. The speaker grill, primary microphone, USB Type C port and 3.5mm headphone jack are present at the bottom. The design is metallic. It is 7.4mm thick which makes Honor Play very sleek.
Honor Play comes with Dual Rear Cameras the first sensor is of 16MP with f 2.2 aperture and the second sensor is of 2MP with f2.4 aperture and Led flash is also there.The front camera is of 16MP with f 2.0 aperture you get Portrait selfie mode. Honor has also included AI features in the camera. The Rear Cameras get the work done but the selfie camera performs good. Let's discuss about Camera features. It has AI modes in camera. There is a Portrait mode support for both the Front and Rear Cameras. Honor has also provided AR lens feature. AI detects the object while taking pictures and will adjust the settings automatically. The Pro mode will give you full control of the camera. Honor Play can record videos upto 4k but EIS and AIS support is only upto 1080p. There are various shooting modes and styles. There is also an option to give 3D effects.
The Multi colored notification light is also present. Honor Play comes with HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor which is Huawei's flagship processor the performance of this processor is equivalent to Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Kirin 970 Processor has inbuilt AI functionality. It comes in two Ram options 4gb and 6gb. It comes with 64gb internal storage.It has Mali G72MP12 GPU with GPU Turbo technology. The gaming experience on Honor Play is very good for the price. There is also support for gesture based navigation. You also get Face unlock feature and an option to unlock using fingerprint and both of them are very fast. EMUI works well there are no UI lags. Honor Play comes with EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and an update to Android Pie has been promised.It is also available in Midnight Black color.
